ESG Ratings

The working group explores rating agencies and their analysis approaches

About the Expert Network

The increasing inclusion of sustainability criteria (so-called ESG factors) in investment decisions as well as the increasing reporting obligations, the multitude of rating agencies and analysis approaches pose major challenges for investors and the companies to be assessed.

Main points of the discussion on rating agencies are the varying degrees of research coverage, transparency regarding methodology, resources and processes surrounding the analysis and the questions of (in)dependence and target group of ratings.

Therefore, this working group has set the goal of providing more transparency around these complex processes and issues. The working group initiates a discussion in this regard between different investors or users of these ratings and the agencies themselves.
