Biography
Professor Dr. Andreas Dombret was born in the USA to German parents. He studied business administration at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster and at the Friedrich-Alexander University in Erlangen-Nuremberg. In his long and successful finance career, beginning in 1987, he worked at the head office of Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt am Main, at JP Morgan in Frankfurt and London from 1992 to 2002, was Co-head of Rothschild Germany in Frankfurt am Main and London, before joining as Vice Chairman for Europe and Head of Germany, Austria and Switzerland at Bank of America from 2005 to 2009. In 2009, he was awarded an honorary professiosur from the European Business School in Oestrich-Winkel. From May 2010 to April 2018, he was a member of the Executive Board of the Deutsche Bundesbank. He has also served at the IMF (deputy of the Deutsche Bundesbank), the Financial Stability Commission (member), the SSM Supervisory Board (member) and the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS) (member) and the Board of Atlantik-Brücke (member).
After his retirement from the Executive Board of the Deutsche Bundesbank, Andreas Dombret joined Oliver Wyman as a Global Senior Advisor. Since 2022, Andreas Dombret is also a member of the Systemic Risk Council of CFA Institute.
